We have our Bit1 2025 Winner:
Spaceship Scavenger Takes the Crown!
Bit1 2025 has officially come to an end. This year, a total of 28 teams from across Finland joined the competition through five PreBit preliminaries – two in Helsinki, two online, and one in Jyväskylä. After a fierce round of judging, seven finalist teams advanced to the Bit1 Finale, held at Helsinki XR Center.
This year’s winning game is Spaceship Scavenger by Team Scavenger! Originally created as a school project last autumn, the team decided to continue developing their game after the course ended. Seeing Bit1 as a valuable opportunity for growth and visibility, they entered the competition – and ended up winning it all!
The 2025 finalist games were:
🎮 Sulo the Sidekick
🎮 THYSIASTERY
🎮 Spaceship Scavenger
🎮 Bliss
🎮 Insomnium
🎮 Kuulapeli
🎮 Welehola
In addition to selecting the winner, the jury also gave two special mentions:
🏆 Sulo the Sidekick for Best B2B Market Potential
🏆 Kuulapeli for Best Meme Game

The Bit1 Finale jury included Sabine Heyne, Jesse Ellonen, and Salla Hiiskoski, who brought their insight and experience to the challenging task of selecting a winner. A huge thank you also to all the other judges; Juha Huhtakallio, Olesja Marjalaakso, Casimir Kuusela, Barbara Leal, Jaakko Kemppainen, Chris Hong, Borb Tuovinen, Anna Salomaa, Arto Koistinen, Tommi Virolainen, Pekka Nordberg, Juha Kinnunen, Topias Paasonen, and Dmytro Zhovtobryukh.

During the jury deliberations, the audience had the chance to hear valuable insights from a Fireside Chat with Anna Salomaa, one of the online PreBit judges. The discussion, titled “Career Paths into the Game Industry,” offered attendees inspiration and practical advice for navigating their future in games.
This year’s Bit1 organizer was Metropolia UAS, with the support of LGIN, Turbiini, Helsinki XR Center, and the City of Helsinki. A huge thank you to all for the invaluable help!
Once again, congratulations to all participating teams – and especially to Team Scavenger! We can’t wait to see them receive their well-earned trophy on the Finnish Game Awards stage!

See you next year!
